Healthy eating

Step 2

We tried all sorts of different shop bought sandwiches and began to discuss the filling, what it looks like, the smell, the flavour and the texture. 






Healthy eating

Following on from health week, year 3 are creating their own healthy sandwiches. 

Step one is to try different types of bread.



The children tasted loads of bread.

Pita, naan, white, wholemeal, 50-50, wrap, baguette, ciabatta, tiger loaf and finally Mrs Eckton's homemade bread.

Thank you

A big thanks to everyone to came to cheer the children on at sports day. It was lovely to see you all. Thank you also, to the parents who helped us to walk 130 children down to South Shore Academy and back again. I know some of you went off to work afterwards.

Global renewables

Having been to the centre in Leyland. The children have come up with action plans on what we could do in school to help our environment. These were collecting rainwater, making a bug hotel, pre-order school dinners and having a waste free lunch.

3JE are exploring geometry this week in maths. Please look out for different types of lines. 



They might be parallel, diagonal, horizontal, vertical or perpendicular lines.

Editing our work

All writers edit their work when they think they have finished. We have read it ourselves, shared it with a partner and now we are making improvements for our class book of alternative Fairy Tales.






We are looking forward to seeing the finished product.

In literacy we have worked together to write notes about Poo Power. This power source was used to get Shelia the Hippo to the moon in our story.
